Neha Raval Elected to ACLU of New Jersey Board of Trustees

The ACLU of New Jersey today announced the election of its newest board member, Neha Raval, a program lead with over 15 years of experience in program development, grantmaking, and capacity building related to health, gender justice, and community safety. Raval's appointment to the board comes at a critical time as the nation grapples with a second Trump administration, which brings unprecedented threats to democracy.

"Neha's experience advancing key advocacy programs that center racial justice, gender equity, and community health brings enormous value to the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees," said ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees President Marc Beebe. "We're thrilled to have her join us in our work to protect civil rights and civil liberties for all New Jerseyans."

Raval is currently a Senior Program Officer at The Just Trust, where she leads criminal legal reform and community safety portfolios. Previously, she was a Senior Program Officer at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, where she advanced research initiatives for the Program on Global Health, Justice, and Governance.

"I am proud to welcome Neha to our Board of Trustees," said ACLU-NJ Executive Director Amol Sinha. "I look forward to working together to ensure that the ACLU-NJ is best positioned to meet this moment, and that New Jersey forges the strongest firewall of freedom."

At The New York Women's Foundation, Raval led the Initiative Against Sex Trafficking of Minors and built a strategy to advance the power of survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation, especially those who encountered the criminal legal system. Raval also previously worked with Frontline Solutions, Global Fund for Children, and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova.

"As a proud New Jerseyan, I'm honored to join the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees," said ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees Member Neha Raval. "The organization's mission to preserve, advance, and extend the individual rights guaranteed to everyone who calls our state home is more vital now than ever. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members in the coming years."

As a member of the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees, Raval will support the organization's mission to preserve, advance, and extend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every New Jerseyan by the state and federal constitutions in courts, in the legislature, and in their communities.
