Campbell Law Class of 2026 secures highest number of judicial clerkships in school history

RALEIGH - Campbell Law School is celebrating a historic milestone as the Class of 2026 secures the highest number of judicial clerkships in the school's 50-year history, which it is celebrating this year.

Thirteen graduates will begin their legal careers serving judges across North Carolina and beyond, marking a significant achievement for the law school and its longstanding commitment to practical training and professional readiness, says Assistant Dean of Career Services and Professional Development Mallory Underwood.

The Class of 2026 federal judicial clerks are:

  • Dylan Long - U.S. Eastern District of North Carolina Bankruptcy Court Judge Joseph Callaway
  • Casey Bouker - U.S. Eastern District of Virginia Bankruptcy Court Chief Judge Brian Kenney d
  • Jessica Griffin - U.S. Eastern District of North Carolina Judge Kimberly Swank '91

The Class of 2026 state judicial clerks are:

  • Reese Dickerhoff - N.C. Supreme Court Justice Philip Berger Jr.
  • Edmund Gunther - N.C. Court of Appeals Judge Chris Freeman
  • Natalie J. Livingston - N.C. Supreme Court Justice Trey Allen
  • Natalie Johnson - N.C. Court of Appeals Judge Jefferson Griffin
  • Brandi Koprowski - N.C. Court of Appeals Judge Jeffery Carpenter '03

"Judicial clerkships remain among the most prestigious and formative opportunities available to new lawyers, offering graduates the chance to work closely with judges, refine their research and writing skills and gain firsthand insight into the judicial decision-making process," Underwood said. "Campbell Law's strong performance this year reflects both the talent of its students and the school's deep relationships within the judiciary."

This record-setting year underscores the faculty's dedication to mentorship and the school's emphasis on rigorous, skills-focused legal education, Underwood added.

"As these graduates begin their clerkships, they carry forward Campbell Law's legacy of service, professionalism and excellence - setting a new benchmark for future classes and strengthening the school's reputation across the state's legal community," Underwood said.
