On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Caecilia T. M. Wijgers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Urban Andersson, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, and Chea Chanboribo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
During his meeting with the Dutch ambassador, the President expressed gratitude for the Netherlands' significant contribution to regional security and its reliable partnership within NATO. He also highlighted close bilateral economic ties and discussed the importance of support for Ukraine. The President welcomed the fact that the Netherlands is Lithuania's largest foreign investor and highlighted opportunities to strengthen partnership in the defense industry, advanced technologies, life sciences, and tourism.
During his meeting with the Swedish ambassador, the President highlighted the excellent relations between Lithuania and Sweden, emphasizing close security and defense cooperation as well as growing economic ties. The Head of State thanked Sweden for its efforts to strengthen Lithuania's security, including its participation in NATO's forward presence in the Baltic region and NATO naval forces, as well as its contribution to strengthening air defense. Gitanas Nausėda also welcomed Sweden's support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening its air defense and energy sector, and invited Swedish defense industry companies to invest in Lithuania.
Upon receiving the credentials of the Cambodian ambassador, the President welcomed the active bilateral relations between Lithuania and Cambodia and the high-level contacts that have intensified this year. Gitanas Nausėda emphasized the importance of economic cooperation, drawing on Lithuania's expertise in science, innovation, and technology.
