Fourth-Lockett Roundabout project complete!

The Arizona Department of Transportation, City of Flagstaff and FANN Contracting are proud to announce the completion of the Fourth-Lockett Roundabout Project. With the project finished, the roundabout is now open to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic! Please be patient as you and your fellow motorists and pedestrians get used to the new roundabout, and follow the marked signage and striping to get to your destination. Please remain alert as crews install final fencing and perform clean-up operations over the next few weeks.

This project included constructing a new roundabout that replaced the signalized intersection at Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue/Lockett Road, improving the safety and function of the intersection. The new roundabout includes flashing pedestrian crossing beacons and a crosswalk at the fourth leg of the intersection. Additional work included the installation of water, sewer and storm drain infrastructure.

"Resident feedback has been positive, and I've enjoyed seeing the roundabout in action" Mayor Becky Daggett said. "It's proven to be safer for pedestrians and to move traffic more efficiently. With three schools and the public library right there, this is a much-needed improvement."

"ADOT, AZTEC Engineering, and Fann Contracting are excited to complete this project for the benefit of the residents of the City of Flagstaff" said Jeremy DeGeyter, ADOT's Northcentral District Administrator. "Many years of effort and community involvement were involved in the development of this project and during construction, the many stakeholders, including the City of Flagstaff, Fann Contracting, and ADOT, worked closely together to keep the project on track for a timely completion to meet our commitment to the community and surrounding schools, businesses, and residents, and we are thrilled that this project will safely serve the surrounding community for years to come."

We appreciate your support, patience and understanding while we work to improve our City's infrastructure. For questions and additional project information, call the project hotline at (928) 255-5153.
