Cary, NC - Some Cary services and operations will be adjusted next week in observance of the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, November 11. Cary Town Hall, community centers, staffed recreation and cultural arts facilities, and the Citizen's Convenience Center will close on Veterans Day. GoCary fixed routes will operate a regular service schedule, with only Tier I Door-to-Door service. Normal operations will resume as listed on each facility's webpage on Wednesday, November 12.
Curbside collection will be delayed by one day for households that receive solid waste collection on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, for the week of November 11. Monday collection routes remain unaffected. The modified schedule can be found at carync.gov/collects or in the Cary Collects app, available in the Apple and Google Play app stores.
Downtown Cary Park Guest Services, The Bark Bar, and Market 317 will operate normally on Veterans Day. Cary Tennis Park will operate under regular hours. The Stevens Nature Center will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve will remain on its regular operating schedule, 9 a.m. until sunset.
To mark the holiday, citizens are invited to Cary's Veterans Day Observance at Veterans Freedom Park on November 11 from 11 a.m. to noon. Parking is available at Cary Academy, 1500 N Harrison Ave, with ADA-accessible shuttle service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is sprinkle or shine, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as seating onsite is limited.
Operation Green Light
From November 4 through November 11, Cary is participating in Operation Green Light, a national collaborative effort to support military veterans, by illuminating the front of the Cary Arts Center and the fountain at Downtown Cary Park green. Citizens and businesses are also encouraged to participate.
