Taft partners Eric Singer and John Gambill recently presented at the 38th Construction Super Conference: Unlocking Legal Strategies for Industry Excellence, held in Bonita Springs, Florida. Singer and Gambill presented, "Problem Project Takeovers: Navigating the Risks and Challenges of Taking Over the Troubled Project," on Dec. 10. The panel discussed what to consider when taking on work where an owner or previous contractor has left the scene and the practical and legal issues that arise and how to best address them from the outside to increase the likelihood of a successful project takeover.
Singer negotiates design and construction agreements and litigated disputes relating to all aspects of construction, title insurance, injunctions, and use of real estate and the built environment, as well as other commercial matters. In addition, he provides general counseling to design and construction professionals, owners, lenders, title insurers, and other parties engaged in the business of design, construction, and the improvement of real estate.
Gambill concentrates his practice in the area of construction law, regularly representing contractors and subcontractors nationwide. He negotiates construction contracts, advises clients in risk mitigation and dispute resolution strategies, and represents clients in all phases of litigation in state and federal court, as well as before other various dispute resolution panels.
