Against the elegant backdrop of the Yacht Club of the Principality of Monaco, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic was held in the presence of Monegasque authorities, the diplomatic corps and the Italian community residing in Monaco.
Ambassador Manuela Ruosi, in her address, recalled the historical significance of 2 June 1946, the date that marked the birth of the Italian Republic and represented a fundamental milestone in the development of the country's democracy, also thanks to the first participation of women in the national vote. She further underlined that "our history is marked by both challenges and successes. The founding fathers paved the way for an inclusive and pluralistic Italy," highlighting how the principles of justice, respect and solidarity enshrined in the Constitution continue to form the cornerstone of Italian democratic life today.
The Ambassador also reviewed the main stages of the Republic's history and highlighted the numerous initiatives promoted by the Embassy, which this year celebrates the 20th anniversary of its establishment. Finally, she looked ahead to the country's future challenges, including support for young people, innovation, environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
