The City of Cathedral City's Public Works Department is alerting residents, business owners, and commuters that pavement rehabilitation work is underway on Cathedral Canyon Drive and will continue through the second week of June.
Matich Corporation will be performing the work, which covers Cathedral Canyon Drive from Perez Road to Paseo Azulejo, including the intersection of Perez Road and Cathedral Canyon Drive.
When and Where
What Drivers Can Expect
Drivers should plan ahead for two key impacts during the project:
Detours around the Perez Road closure will be clearly marked on the roadway. Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed in the Cone Zone, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time.
Driveway and Emergency Access
Matich Corporation will make every effort to keep driveways to all residences and businesses open at all times, but there may be moments when a driveway is temporarily inaccessible. Emergency vehicles and all other essential services will have access throughout the duration of the project.
A Smoother Cathedral Canyon Drive Ahead
This pavement rehabilitation is part of the City's ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving Cathedral City's roadways. Once complete, drivers can expect a significantly smoother, safer driving surface along this important corridor.
The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and businesses during construction to help the project run as smoothly as possible.
