Windhorst Marks Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January 6, 2026

METROPOLIS, IL - State Representative Patrick Windhorst is reminding residents that January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Rep. Windhorst marked the month of awareness by issuing the following statement.

"January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month and a reminder that we all have a role to play in preventing this heinous crime. House Republicans have sponsored legislation to hold offenders accountable, support survivors, and protect victims of human trafficking across Illinois. While our state has made great strides in combating this crime, there is still more that can be done to end it once and for all. This month, we urge all Illinoisans to learn the signs of human trafficking."
