February 27, 2026Funding will support the project team's small-scale research and development of fermentation technology based on a microbial co-culture approach to efficiently produce biofuels from various single-carbon (C1) feedstocks. Specifically, the project team will (1) produce, test, and validate a microaerobic co-culture bioreactor process, (2) further refine production to meet final metrics for technical readiness, and (3) finalize process and outputs for future large-scale production.
