LC College for Kids Adds New Classes to Summer Lineup

New classes have been added to the 2026 College for Kids schedule.

GODFREY -More fun is coming to the College for Kids lineup this summer at Lewis and Clark Community College.

In addition to the usual schedule of creative and entertaining learning opportunities offered each summer, K-Pop Demon Hunters: Music, Culture and Confidence; Blazers Bureau of Investigation: Crime Solvers; and Blazers Bureau of Investigation: Junior Detectives have been added.

"We look for activities that are educational, fun, creative, and engaging," Community Education Division Assistant Becky Moore said. "We try to appeal to the interests of today's youth."

College for Kids Instructor Niki Busler, who will teach all three new classes, is focused on making the experience fun and creative.

"I can't wait to bring the K-Pop Demon Hunters to life with students," she said. "We'll have fun exploring music, movement, creativity, and even some basic Korean phrases. Students are welcome to dress as their favorite character or come in their own K-Pop-inspired style."

Busler will offer two different Blazers Bureau of Investigation classes, where students will learn to think like an investigator through hands-on activities like fingerprinting, creating their own detective dossier, and solving mini mysteries.

"Students will explore real-world cases through guided, age-appropriate clips, practicing how to identify clues and analyze evidence," Busler said. "Get ready for a fun, interactive experience full of teamwork, critical thinking, and detective skills."

K-Pop Demon Hunters: Music, Culture and Confidence (ages 6-13)- Inspired by the animated film, this high-energy, creative class invites students to explore the exciting world of K-pop, storytelling and self-expression. Through music, art, movement and cultural exploration, students will discover how creativity can be a powerful way to express who they are-both on stage and in everyday life.

Blazers Bureau of Investigation: Crime Solvers (ages 12-15)- In this engaging criminology-inspired class, students will explore how real investigators use evidence, logic and forensic science to solve crimes. Students will learn foundational criminology concepts such as fingerprint analysis, evidence evaluation and case documentation.

Blazers Bureau of Investigation: Junior Detectives (ages 6-9)- In this hands-on criminology-inspired class, young learners will join the Blazers Bureau of Investigation to explore how detectives solve mysteries using observation, clues, and teamwork. Students will be introduced to the basics of criminology in a fun, age-appropriate way as they learn how investigators look for clues and solve cases.

To improve on old favorites, Wonders with Numbers, Travel Around the World Lego Style and Master Challenge Lego Style will also be offered this summer.

Weekly camps begin June 8 and run through July 30.
