Flood Relief: U-Haul Offers Free Storage across St. Louis Metro
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Nov. 5, 2024) - U-Haul® has reactivated its disaster relief program in the St. Louis metro area to assist flood victims needing free self-storage and U-Box® container usage.
The goodwill offer entails 30 days of free storage services and is available at 12 Company stores across Greater St. Louis. A 13th U-Haul store in Branson is available to assist residents who are dealing with storm damage in the Ozarks region.
Flash flooding has resulted in standing water and multiple road closures in and around St. Louis. The unprecedented event has set a record for the city's highest 24-hour rainfall total in November, per reports.
Some residences and businesses are likely to have sustained water damage from the flooding. Access to dry and secure self-storage units and portable storage containers is critical for communities during the recovery process.
The free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box offer includes 30 days free use of a storage container at a participating U-Haul center, or a discounted delivery and pick-up service fee of $49 for flood victims needing on-site portable storage at their homes.
