Reminder: Join the 2026 Pensacola Beach Junior Lifeguards Program this Summer

The Pensacola Beach Junior Lifeguard program is seeking aspiring lifeguards between the ages of 13 and 15 to join the 2026 Junior Lifeguard Program, an exciting and challenging two-week summer training session on Casino Beach.

Tryouts for the program will take place Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 a.m. at Quietwater Beach. Tryouts consist of an approximately 400-yard open water swim in waist-deep water, followed by a one-mile run on the sand. Applicants must attend tryouts to be considered for the program. Limited spots are available.

In the event of inclement weather, tryouts will be postponed to Sunday, June 7 at 7:30 a.m.

The program cost is $200 per person. Applicants accepted into the program must pay on the day of the tryout with a check or money order. Credit cards or cash are not accepted. A parent must be present at the tryout.

The Junior Lifeguard Program is offered in two sessions from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday over a two-week period. Applicants with the fastest tryout times will have first choice for their preferred session:

• Session one: Monday, June 15 to Friday, June 26
• Session two: Tuesday, July 21 to Saturday, Aug. 1

During the program, junior lifeguards will learn about water rescues and medical care, participate in rescue drills, shadow Pensacola Beach Lifeguards, and more.
