The City of Pasadena Public Works Department Invites Community to Review 90% Design for Brookside Park Stormwater Capture Project

The City of Pasadena invites community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to join City staff and the project design team on Wednesday, September 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at La Casita del Arroyo, 177 S. Arroyo Blvd., to review the 90% design for the Brookside Park Stormwater Capture effort. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed improvements, ask questions, and hear about the benefits and next steps. A formal presentation will also highlight key design elements and proposed improvements.

The Brookside Park Stormwater Capture Project is a multi-benefit stormwater capture effort designed to capture and treat stormwater runoff from approximately 1,166 acres. The improvements will help improve water quality, reduce stormwater pollution entering the Arroyo Seco and Los Angeles River, and support groundwater recharge in the Raymond Basin. The design also incorporates low-impact development (LID) improvements, including a vegetated bioswale, drought-tolerant and native landscaping, new shade trees, and other parking lot improvements.

The design has been shaped through ongoing coordination with community members, City departments, and stakeholders. The 90% design reflects continued development and community input received throughout the planning and design process. This outreach event will provide the community with an opportunity to learn how the design has progressed as it moves toward final design.

The City encourages residents, community organizations, and stakeholders to attend this event and participate in this important milestone for the Brookside Park Stormwater Capture Project.
