Magnificent brings together more than 70 collaborators, many of whom are artists, songwriters, and advocates with disabilities, neurodivergence, and other lived experiences, creating a truly collaborative, community-driven project rooted in the belief that children deserve to hear authentic stories from people with lived experience. Featured collaborators include 123 Andrés, Alphabet Rockers, Mega Ran, Lisa Loeb, Matthew Whitaker, Raul Midón, Mandy Harvey, Divinity Roxx, and dozens more. The album is accompanied by a companion curriculum from The Nora Project at the Center for Equitable Learning (CEL), helping classrooms continue conversations around identity, inclusion, and belonging through each song's themes and lyrics. Educators can explore the free curriculum at https://www.experiencecel.org/Lachi/
" When I was growing up, the conversations around my ADHD and vision loss often felt confusing or absent, and that left me carrying a lot of quiet shame, " says Lachi. "I made Magnificent for the kid I was back then and for every child who is masking or navigating difference now, so they can feel seen, celebrated, and grow up knowing there's nothing about them that needs fixing."
Opening with its uplifting title track, Magnificent invites listeners into a world where individuality shines. Across the album, infectious pop hooks and genre-spanning production bring themes of movement, communication, confidence, curiosity, and belonging to life. Lead single "Fidget" transforms stimming into a thumping pop anthem, while "Moves" celebrates the many ways our bodies move through the world, challenging the idea that there's only one "right" way to move. "Ask Me" encourages curiosity and open conversations around disability, while "Emoji of a Heart" highlights the many ways we communicate, love, and connect beyond spoken words. "Soy Diferente" brings vibrant Spanglish reggaeton energy to the album's celebration of identity and culture, while "Do I Count" reminds every child that they belong exactly as they are. Later tracks including "Next Up" and "I Like Me" lean into confidence and empowerment before culminating with the exuberant finale, "Barriers for Breakfast." Together, the songs encourage kids and families to sing, dance, ask questions, and celebrate what makes every person unique.
In addition to digital platforms, Magnificent is also available as a limited-edition CD featuring an extensive liner note insert that doubles as a coloring book, with printable and online versions available for families and classrooms. Inspired by the colors of the Disability Pride flag, the album's packaging and interactive homepage pair each song with its own signature emoji, creating another playful way for children to engage with the music.
