Overnight Closure on Southbound Interstate 680 Lane #4 and Connector to State Route 4 for Attenuator Repairs

Contra Costa County - The Caltrans Walnut Creek Bridge Crew will conduct an overnight lane and connector closure to repair a damaged attenuator. Friday September 25, 2026, southbound I-680 Lane 4 will be closed from just south of Pacheco Blvd on ramp to just south of the SR-4 Connector; from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Please note there will be no access to SR-4 from SB I-680. For current District 4 lane closure information click here. All work is weather dependent and scheduled to change.

Time: 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Location: Southbound I-680 Lane #4 from just past Pacheco Blvd on ramp to just past of the SR-4 Connector/interchange (Closing both eastbound and westbound SR-4 connector from southbound I-680.)

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays, prepare to merge and allow for extra travel time. Please remember to slow down for the Cone Zone, stay alert, and help keep everyone safe during construction.
