Charges Filed in Weekend Shooting

March 31, 2025, Peoria, IL - Over the weekend, Andrew L. Webster, 26, was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm for a shooting Saturday morning at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex. During the incident, a man who was lying in bed with his family received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Today, a detention hearing was held, and the State's Petition to Detain Webster was granted, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial.

Around 12:25 am Saturday, officers responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of W. Fallen Oak Lane. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his side. The victim's girlfriend informed the officers that they were in bed with her two children when they heard five gunshots outside of the apartment. After hearing the shots, the victim then yelled that he was shot. Fortunately, no one else was injured. However, two other occupied apartments and three vehicles were struck by bullets.

Using surveillance video, officers identified Webster as a suspect. Shortly after the shooting, he was taken into custody and admitted to the shooting. A gun was also recovered.

This investigation is ongoing. If you have information regarding this incident, please contact the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
