June 2026 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Down 1.4% from the Same Month Last Year

U.S. airlines carried 87.5 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in June 2026, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, June enplanements are down 0.4% from May and down 3.7% from the all-time high reached in June 2024.

BTS reported 75.5 million domestic passengers and 12 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in June, not adjusting for seasonality.

Trends (not seasonally adjusted) in U.S. airlines passenger enplanements

• Systemwide enplanements (87.5M) were down 2.5% from the all-time June high (89.7) reached in 2024.
• Domestic enplanements (75.5M) were down 2.2% from the all-time June high (77.2) reached in 2024.
• International enplanements (12.0M) were down 4.4% from the all-time June high (12.5) reached in 2024.
