Schakowsky Statement Following the Return of the Hostages Held by Hamas
EVANSTON - Today, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) released the following statement on the release of the hostages held by Hamas:
"Today, my heart is with the hostages and families who are finally reunited after unimaginable pain, uncertainty, and suffering. The human cost of this war has been staggering, and the time for healing begins now.
"There is still a lot of work to be done. Let this moment mark the beginning of a future rooted in dignity, safety, and self-determination for all. We must remain committed to protecting all innocent lives and urgently pursuing a long-term path toward peace, justice, and safety for both Israelis and Palestinians."
