During the opening session, H.E. Dr Al-Tahami Al-Zein Hajar, Minister of Education, underscored:
"Teacher training is one of the strongest indicators of education quality, and we thank UNESCO for organizing this important initiative,"
reminding participants that teachers are the true spearhead of educational progress.
Held under the banner "Education Cannot Wait", the workshop brings together 30 training experts from across Sudan's states. The initiative aims to standardise training content, strengthen teaching methodologies, and connect state-level training centres to the national centre through digital technology in preparation for an upcoming phase of intensive capacity-building.
Dr. Amin Awad Al-Sayed, Director of the National Center for Teacher Training, highlighted that the workshop seeks to establish a scientific and unified approach to education in emergencies, contributing to enhanced quality and resilience within Sudan's education system.
UNESCO Sudan reaffirms its commitment to supporting national education institutions, strengthening teacher capacity, and ensuring that every child's right to safe, quality education is protected, even in the most challenging circumstances.
