ICE secures 23-year sentence for dangerous repeat sex offender who sexually extorted minors with vape pens

McALLEN, Texas - Walter Wilkins, 24, of Weslaco, was sentenced to 23 years in prison for coercion and enticement of a minor Jan. 23 following an investigation conducted by ICE Homeland Security Investigations Rio Grande Valley's Child Exploitation Task Force. Wilkins pleaded guilty to producing child sexual abuse material involving a child under 16.

"Wilkins' actions represent the worst kind of predatory behavior, targeting and exploiting vulnerable children in our community," said HSI San Antonio acting Special Agent in Charge John A. Pasciucco. "HSI, together with our law enforcement partners, worked tirelessly to uncover the full scope of Wilkins' crimes and ensure he faces justice. HSI will not tolerate those who use technology to coerce, abuse and traumatize minors. Our agents remain steadfast in their resolve to pursue child predators and protect our children from those who seek to do them harm."
