Q. How long have you worked at W&L?
I've been working at W&L for four years total, though I left for a while and came back two years ago.
Q. What is the favorite aspect of your job at W&L?
My favorite part of my job is reading news alerts about the interesting things our alumni do. Whether it's starting a new business, getting a promotion, serving their community or publishing research - they do some amazing things.
Q. If you chose a different path, what other career would you have?
If I chose a different career path, I would work in fitness. I was previously a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I love finding fun ways to be healthy with friends.
Q. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Graham, North Carolina, a small town in the middle of the state.
Q. What was your favorite subject in school?
Band.
Q. Who is the most famous person you have met and where did you meet them?
I met Hulk Hogan outside a laser tag center in Florida in 2001. He was picking up his kid from a birthday party and driving an enormous Hummer.
Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Talking during a performance.
Q. What do you like to do away from work?
I love being creative with cooking. I use recipes as general suggestions, merging multiple recipes and adding my own flare. I measure with vibes more than teaspoons - my husband likes to say he's never eaten the same meal twice.
Q. What is your least favorite chore at home?
Washing dishes.
Q. What is your favorite family holiday tradition?
Every Christmas break we do a puzzle as a family. It gives us a chance to hang out and do something while we talk and catch up.
Q. What is your all-time favorite food or food dish?
I love anything that involves chips - nachos, spinach dip, cheese dip, anything crunchy with lots of flavor.
Q. What is your all-time favorite book?
"Anne of Green Gables." I have always identified with her daydreaming.
Q. What is your all-time favorite movie?
"Twister," the one from the 90s. I'm not sure why, but I have always loved watching it.
Q. What song or artist could you play on repeat?
Whitney Houston.
