Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Update — April 2026

Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported encouraging passenger activity in April 2026, with enplanements rising 0.6 percent compared to April 2025. Growth was driven by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Allegiant Air. The overall load factor of the airlines serving COS improved to 76.2 percent, up from 73.7 percent last year. Allegiant Air recorded a load factor of 81.5 percent in April, indicating steady demand for its flights. Despite modest changes in seat capacity and operations, COS maintained consistent performance, reflecting ongoing travel demand in the region.

Notable Updates

• On May 12, NASA's ER2 aircraft departed from COS in support of the U.S. Geological Survey's largest-ever airborne hyperspectral survey.
• On May 21, Art at COS, in partnership with Cottonwood Center for the Arts, showcased works by local artists in the exhibition "Inflight Dining: In Consideration of the Airline Meal" via a passenger engagement event.

ElevateCOS Concourse Modernization - progress

• The Dormakaba exit lane breach control (ELBC) system is operational and in use, allowing passengers to exit while preventing unauthorized re-entry without TSA clearance.

Upcoming June flight schedule at Colorado Springs Airport

There are 1,220 flights and 133,135 seats scheduled to depart COS to 15 different airports in 12 different cities.

Allegiant Air - St. Petersburg/Tampa (PIE); Phoenix/Mesa (AZA); Santa Ana/Orange County (SNA)

• Twice-weekly service to PIE.
• Twice-weekly service to AZA resumes Oct. 17.
• SNA service will pause from Aug. 8 to Oct. 1 due to increased fuel prices.

American Airlines - Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW); Chicago O'Hare (ORD)

• Up to six daily flights to DFW with extensive domestic and international connections.
• Once-daily service to ORD.

Delta Air Lines - Atlanta (ATL); Salt Lake City (SLC); Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP)

• Twice-daily service to ATL.
• Twice-daily service to SLC.
• Daily service to MSP resumes June 7.

Southwest Airlines - Chicago (MDW); Dallas (DAL); Denver (DEN); Houston (HOU); Las Vegas (LAS); Phoenix (PHX); San Diego (SAN); San Antonio (SAT)

• Four-times-weekly service to SAN.
• Up to twice-daily service to DAL.
• Up to four-times-daily service to DEN.
• Once-daily service to HOU.
