Tech solutions addressed falls prevention, staffing, quality sleep, and more.

A diverse group of members from CAST and LeadingAge have received McKnight's Excellence in Technology Awards for their innovations. The 15th annual awards ceremony took place online on Sept. 17, 2025, bestowing honors in 16 categories. The winning solutions address many of senior living's top challenges, including preventing falls, leveraging workforce, connecting electronic health records, and improving residents' health.

"This year's awards highlight how our members are applying technology to some of the most important issues in aging services. These innovations are not just technical achievements; they represent real progress in improving daily life for residents and staff. I am proud to see LeadingAge and CAST members recognized for their dedication and impact," said Scott Code, Vice President of CAST at LeadingAge.

Gold Award Winners

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities

LeadingAge Member Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, with Isaac Health and Kafka Media Group, were honored for making memory care accessible to residents. Isaac Health taps artificial intelligence (AI)-driven telehealth solutions to diagnose and treat cognitive impairment early. Results include cognitive decline delayed up to three years, with 92% of patients achieving better cognition within the first three weeks.

  • Telehealth Solutions - Gold Award

Fellowship Square-Mesa Senior Living Community

LeadingAge Member Fellowship Square-Mesa Senior Living Community and Helpany won four awards for its radar-powered and AI-driven device, called Paul, that monitors residents without cameras and learns their individual movement patterns. • Best in Show
  • Innovator of the Year - Gold Award
  • Resident/Patient Monitoring & Safety - Gold Award
  • Falls Prevention, Management or Detection - Silver Award

LCS

LCS, a LeadingAge Bronze Partner with CAST Focus, and its Forum at Rancho San Antonio community partnered with Neursantys to pilot the first United States study of a non-invasive electrical vestibular stimulation treatment protocol. • Emerging Technology - Gold Award
  • Falls Prevention, Management or Detection - Gold Award
  • Innovator of the Year - Bronze Award

In addition, LCS in partnership with Microsoft and Snowflake won a Silver Award in the Home Grown category for independent technology development.
