Public input meeting set for Douglass Park basketball court improvements

(COLUMBIA, MO)- City of Columbia Parks and Recreation is hosting an interested parties meeting to gain feedback on revised designs of the basketball courts at Douglass Park, 400 N. Providence Road.

The meeting will be held at the park Monday, Sept. 29 from 4-6 p.m. near the Wynna Faye Tapp-Elbert Amphitheater off of Fifth Street. Park planners will present the revised proposed plans at that time.

The City held additional public input meetings in May of 2025 to gather resident feedback from the community about the current capital improvement project at Douglass Park. Parks staff used those comments to design the revised plans for the basketball courts.

For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 573.874.7460, or visit the project page at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/douglass-park-improvements-2025-2026.

In order to assist staff in making the appropriate arrangements for your accommodation, please make your request as far in advance of the posted meeting date as possible.
