The Stafford Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting on January 7, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to elect a new Chairman and Vice Chairman, assign committee members and appoint members of the public to boards, authorities, committees and commissions (BACCs). Supervisor Deuntay Diggs, George Washington District, was elected by his fellow Board members to serve as Chairman. The Board elected Supervisor Tinesha Allen of the Griffis-Widewater District as Vice Chairman.
"My profound understanding of the diverse communities across our county empowers me to lead this Board toward meaningful progress and the achievement of our ambitious goals," said Chairman Deuntay Diggs of the George Washington District. "My foremost priority is to cultivate a united, dynamic, and effective team. I am inspired by our collective potential and fully confident that together, we will create lasting and impactful change for our community."
Chairman Deuntay Diggs is serving his second year on the Board of Supervisors, while Vice Chairman Tinesha Allen, now in her second term since joining the Board in 2020, serves as Vice Chairman for the second time. Their selection marks a historic milestone for Stafford County, as it is the first time in the Board's history that two Black supervisors have simultaneously held the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman. This achievement reflects a significant step forward in representation and leadership within the county.
The Board is comprised of seven members from seven districts. In addition to Diggs and Allen, members include Monica Gary, Aquia District; Dr. Pamela Yeung, Garrisonville District; Meg Bohmke, Falmouth District; Darrell English, Hartwood District; and Crystal Vanuch, Rock Hill District.
