Lower Merion Snow Emergency Lifted

The Lower Merion Township Snow Emergency declaration has been lifted ending at noon on Monday, January 26, 2026. Public Works crews continue to perform snowstorm clean-up activities.

Trash and recycling collection will resume collection on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with a holiday schedule implemented. However, with the volume of snow, trash trucks may still not be able to get into many alleys on Tuesday so collections should be brought curbside. Residents with rear yard collection may also want to place trash and recycling curbside, since driveways that are not fully cleared of snow and ice will not be collected.

Any missed collections from this week will be made up next week and volume restrictions will be relaxed.

Remember sidewalks must be cleared, 36 inches in width, within 24 hours of the end of snowfall.

Note it is illegal to throw or plow snow into the street. Please clear corner sidewalk ramps to the street and clear snow from around fire hydrants to help our neighbors and for fire safety.

Please check the Township's website, www.lowermerion.org, or our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feed.

To report a hazardous condition, call the Police Communication Center at 610-649-1000. For an emergency call 911.

To report power outages, call PECO directly at 1-800-841-4141.

Stay safe Lower Merion.
