The Greensboro Public Library is hosting its semi-annual Meet an Author Day from 1-4 pm, Saturday, January 24 at Central Library, 219 N. Church St. This free event is an opportunity for customers to talk with more than a dozen well-known North Carolina writers, have books signed, attend a workshop and learn more about the publishing world. Meet a Author Day has been a popular event for more than 20 years, hosting authors like Sharyn McCrumb, Jason Mott, Jill McCorkle, Jodie Picoult, and more.
From 1-3:30 pm, customers can meet over a dozen regional authors, enjoy refreshments and vote for their favorite reads of 2025. It's also an opportunity to preview new books for a "TBR" (to be read) list in 2026.
At 2 pm, there will be a Beginning Writers Workshop with Dominque Daye Hunter, Unleash the Story Within Workshop: A Step-by-Step Overview of Writing and Publishing Your Book Idea. As an Afro-Indigenous disabled, neuro-divergent woman, Hunter uses her skills and experiences to connect people with their roots and reclaim their voice.
At 3 pm, there will be a Round Robin presentation by the all of the writers. Authors scheduled to attend include Willa Brigham, J. Celano, Edward Di Gangi, Ruben Gonzales, Eddie Huffman, Curtis Neal, Lynn Simpson, Lakisha Tucker, Ginny Williamson, and Martin Zelder.
