This is your USD News Minute.
On Thursday, USD hosted the San Diego Economic Roundtable on campus, where experts discussed how recent elections may affect jobs and businesses locally and nationwide. Students also heard from financial content creator Kyla Scanlon on navigating today's economy.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of USD's TRIO Upward Bound Program which serves more than 120 first-generation and or income eligible high school students with advising, mentoring, tutoring and college application support. Recently, the program's director wrote an Op-ed for The San Diego Union Tribune highlighting the program's impact. Read it in the link provided.
If you're looking to support your fellow Toreros this week, we've got some exciting events lined up! On Friday at 2 PM, our Swim & Dive team takes on San Diego State in a cross-town rival home meet - completely free to attend. Women's Basketball has two big games in the Jenny Craig Pavilion: they'll face Saint Mary's on Thursday at 6 PM and San Francisco on Saturday, January 25, at 2 PM as part of their Alumni Day celebration. Tickets for both basketball games are free for the USD community, so don't miss out!
As always, thank you for watching and we'll see you next week.
