The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand co-host Iftar Dinner

On 25 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended an Iftar Dinner co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand, at the Foundation of Islamic Centre of the Thailand. Also in attendance were Sheikhul Islam of Thailand, Mr. Wanmuhamadnoor Matha, former President of the National Assembly and Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, members of diplomatic corps of 22 Muslim countries in Thailand, important figures of Thai Muslim community, Thai Muslims, in total of more than 390 participants.

The Vice Foreign Minister underscored that Thailand is a true multicultural society and this has always been a strength of the country. He reaffirmed that deepening engagement with the Islamic world, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as advancing Islamic affairs and supporting the Thai Muslim community, remain key priorities of Thailand's foreign policy.

Iftar Dinner is the first meal of the day for Muslims who fast from sunrise to sunset during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The Ministry and the Foundation of Islamic Centre of Thailand have annually co-hosted an Iftar Dinner since 2009 to strengthen relations with the diplomatic corps from Muslim countries and reflect the Thai Government's commitment to supporting the Thai Muslim community.
