WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27) announced today that the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), one of the largest Hispanic evangelical organizations in the country, has officially endorsed the Dignity Act of 2025, her bipartisan immigration reform bill.
With more than 42,000 affiliated churches and millions of members across the United States and abroad, the NHCLC's endorsement reflects growing support from faith leaders urging Congress to address the nation's immigration crisis with urgency, compassion, and fairness.
"The Dignity Act brings an urgently needed solution to the complex state of immigration in the United States," said Pastor Samuel Rodríguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference."This act respects and upholds the rule of law and provides a resolution for immigration ambiguity. We support this act because it provides a path forward for good, God-fearing, hard-working men and women who have created a life here through dedicated hard work. We applaud Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar and fully support her historic efforts to help resolve the current untenable state of immigration."
Congresswoman Salazar thanked Pastor Rodríguez and the NHCLC for their leadership and emphasized that the Dignity Act of 2025 stands as the only bipartisan, commonsense solution in Congress.
"I am deeply grateful to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and Pastor Samuel Rodríguez for endorsing the Dignity Act," said Rep. Salazar. "The NHCLC is one of the strongest voices for faith, family, and freedom in America, and their support sends a clear message: fixing our immigration system is not just good policy, it's the right thing to do. This is more than a political debate; it's a moral calling. America can be strong and compassionate at the same time, and with partners like the NHCLC, and with God guiding our way, we will make it happen."
The Dignity Act of 2025 continues to gain momentum nationwide, drawing support from almost 50 national organizations and over 20 Members of Congress from both parties. Faith, business, and community leaders across the country agree that the cost of inaction is too high. What was once a policy debate has become a national crisis affecting every part of American life, from the economy and workforce to neighborhoods and houses of worship.
The Dignity Act of 2025 is a serious, bipartisan plan that restores order at the border, strengthens America's workforce, and brings stability to American workers and families across the country. It speaks to both the moral and economic urgency of this moment, protecting jobs, upholding the rule of law, and honoring the dignity of work and family as core American values.
