Lane closure begins Aug. 10 for repairs to US-95 Snake River Bridge in Homedale

HOMEDALE - The Idaho Transportation Department has begun repairs to the U.S. Highway 95 Snake River Bridge in Homedale, with a lane closure expected to go into effect Monday.

Crews are currently setting up scaffolding and containment beneath the bridge. Temporary traffic signals will be used to guide drivers over the one-lane bridge.

The northbound lane will be closed first. Traffic is expected to shift later this month, when crews anticipate closing the southbound lane and moving work to the other side of the bridge. Work is scheduled to be completed in early September.

The repairs are part of ITD's bridge preservation work across Southwest Idaho. Crews are repairing several bridges during the 2026 construction season, moving from one to another as repairs are completed.

The purpose of the work is to preserve bridge condition, address needed repairs and extend the service life of existing structures. Repairs may include concrete improvements, crack repair, expansion joint replacement, waterproofing, bridge rail work and other maintenance needs. This work helps keep bridges safe and functional while reducing the need for more significant repairs later.

Drivers should expect delays, slow down, follow posted signs and obey the temporary traffic signals. ITD also encourages travelers to plan ahead and check 511.idaho.gov or the 511 mobile app for the latest traffic impacts.
