University of Wisconsin-Platteville School of Business earns prestigious ACBSP Global Accreditation

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is proud to announce that its School of Business programs have earned specialized accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). This prestigious designation recognizes the School of Business and its commitment to excellence in teaching, continuous improvement and preparing students to make an impact in business careers.

"Earning ACBSP accreditation is a significant milestone for UW-Platteville," said Chancellor Tammy Evetovich. "It reflects our mission to provide outstanding, career-ready education and reinforces the success of the School of Business and its commitment to preparing students to succeed and contribute meaningfully to the communities we serve."

The programs receiving accreditation include Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting, finance, human resource management, management, marketing and supply chain management, as well as Master of Science degrees in management, organizational change leadership, project management and supply chain management.

"This accreditation reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff to provide a world-class education that prepares students for successful business careers," said Dr. Les Hollingsworth, director of the School of Business. "It demonstrates that our students are graduating with the skills required by today's employers and that we consistently improve at listening and responding to what is needed in the field."

ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation body for business education that is based upon the Baldridge Excellence Framework. Unlike other accrediting bodies that focus primarily on research, ACBSP emphasizes teaching excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring that students receive a practical, application-based education that prepares them for the workforce.

The accreditation process involves a comprehensive self-study and a site review from an ACBSP evaluation team. Programs are evaluated on leadership, strategic planning, student outcomes, stakeholder engagement, student learning and faculty credentials and experience.

"This accreditation provides an extra layer of validation for what many companies in the region have known for years-UW-Platteville's business school produces excellent graduates who are career-ready," notes Tim Christen, chairman emeritus of Baker Tilly and past chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

This milestone further solidifies UW-Platteville's reputation as a premier destination for student-centered business education in the Midwest, offering students a competitive edge in the global job market.
