Tuberville Partners with President Trump to Deliver Major Wins for Alabama in 2025

WASHINGTON - As 2025 comes to an end, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) issued a statement highlighting how he worked with President Trump to deliver major wins for Alabama this year:

"With President Trump back in the White House, the sky is the limit for Alabama. Soon after taking office, President Trump delivered major wins on issues I've been championing for years, including banning men in women's sports, protecting taxpayers from funding abortions in the military, and getting woke DEI out of our federal government. I also fought every day to bring jobs, investments, manufacturing, and opportunities to Alabama. I was glad to see U.S. Space Command returning to its rightful home in Huntsville and that Fannie Mae is relocating from San Francisco to Birmingham. I will continue fighting every day for Alabama's conservative values and to make sure the Yellowhammer State continues punching far above our weight."

At the beginning of the 119th Congress, Senator Tuberville was named Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Subcommittee on Education and the American Family, as well as Chair of the Senate Armed Services (SASC) Subcommittee on Personnel.

PUTTING ALABAMA FIRST:

  • ADVOCATING FOR ALABAMA: Senator Tuberville helped secure funding for several Alabama priorities in two appropriations bills that passed the Senate.
    • $440,000 for the Pike Road Agriculture Job Development and Career Center.
    • $1,648,000 for the Waterworks Sewer and Gas Board of Section, Alabama for Fyffe Sewer System Improvements.
    • $7,400,000 for Fort Rucker for the Flat Iron Support Facility.
  • MOVING FANNIE MAE TO BIRMINGHAM: After several conversations with President Trump and Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte, Sen. Tuberville announced that Fannie Mae is relocating some of its offices from San Francisco, California, to Birmingham, Alabama.
    • "Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte, Fannie Mae is immediately leaving woke California for sweet home Alabama," said Senator Tuberville."Fannie Mae is one of the biggest mortgage financers in the world. Relocating Fannie Mae from San Francisco to Birmingham will not only save the taxpayers money, but it will bring jobs and opportunities to our state. Birmingham used to be the financial capital of the South and this is an important step to making Birmingham boom again."
  • BRINGING SPACE COMMAND HOME: Senator Tuberville relentlessly advocated for President Trump and Secretary Hegseth to move U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Huntsville, Alabama. Following Sen. Tuberville's efforts, President Trump and Secretary Hegseth announced they were relocating SPACECOM to its rightful home at Redstone Arsenal-reversing a Biden-era decision designed to punish Alabama by moving the new headquarters to Colorado.
    • "President Trump is doing the right thing by moving SPACECOM back to its rightful home in Sweet Home Alabama," said Senator Tuberville. "This was never supposed to be about politics. After a thorough selection process involving 66 possible locations, Huntsville was chosen fair and square. But unfortunately, the Biden Administration chose politics over national security. Thankfully, President Trump, Secretary Hegseth, and Secretary Meink are restoring merit and integrity to the process and saving taxpayers nearly a half a billion dollars. We couldn't be more excited to immediately welcome SPACECOM to the Rocket City."
  • RELOCATING FBI JOBS TO HUNTSVILLE: Following Sen. Tuberville's efforts, FBI Director Kash Patel announced he was moving more than 500 FBI jobs to Redstone Arsenal. Sen. Tuberville invited Director Patel to Huntsville for a tour of Redstone's state-of-the-art facilities.
  • VOTED TO SECURE $500 MILLION FOR ALABAMA RURAL HOSPITALS: As part of the One Big Beautiful Bill, Senator Tuberville (R-AL) helped secure more than $500 million for Alabama's rural hospitals.
  • NOMINATING OUTSTANDING ALABAMIANS: As Alabama's senior Senator, Sen. Tuberville was proud to recommend several outstanding Alabamians to the Trump administration for appointments to various positions this year. The below nominees have all been confirmed.
    • Randy Jones from Guntersville to represent Alabama on the Tennessee Valley Authority Board.
    • Edmund LaCour from Dothan to be a Federal District Court Judge (Northern District, Tuscaloosa).
    • Hal Mooty from Montgomery to be a Federal District Court Judge (Northern District, Huntsville).
    • Bill Lewis from Wetumpka to be a Federal District Court Judge (Middle District).
    • Dr. Brian Christine from Mountain Brook to be the Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
    • Lindy Blanchard from Montgomery to be Ambassador to the United Nations for Food and Agriculture.
  • EXPANDING TALLADEGA NATIONAL FOREST: After extensive conversations withlocal leaders,Sen. Tuberville worked with Rep. Mike Rogers to expand the proclamation boundary of the Talladega National Forest by approximately 50,000 acres in three counties in East Alabama through the Talladega National Forest Expansion Act to promote increased tourism and wellness to the region. The Senate AG Committee passed Senator Tuberville's legislation earlier this year in a larger package with other U.S. Forest Service lands bills.
  • HELPING ALABAMIANS GET A PASSPORT: Thanks to the hard work of Sen. Tuberville's state team, his office was able to help 550 Alabamians get a passport in 2025.

PROTECTING THE HOMELAND:

  • FIGHTING BACK AGAINST RADICAL ISLAM: For months, Senator Tuberville has been the only U.S. Senator sounding the alarm about one of the biggest national security threats facing the United States: Radical Islam. Senator Tuberville has delivered severalfloorspeeches warning that Radical Islam is fundamentally incompatible with western values and cannot be allowed to fester in this country. He also introduced two bills to protect Americans from the dangers of Radical Islam.
    • Sen. Tuberville introduced the No Sharia Act, which would prohibit the application of Sharia Law in the U.S. where it would violate constitutional rights.
    • He also introduced the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act, which would prevent all foreign nationals advocating for Sharia Law from entering the U.S.
  • STANDING UP FOR CHRISTIANS: Senator Tuberville has been leading the charge in the Senate to stop the mass genocide of Christians in Nigeria. Since 2000, more than 62,000 Christians have been slaughtered by Islamic terrorists in Nigeria. In 2025, more than 7,000 Nigerian Christians have been murdered because of their faith alone. After Senator Tuberville brought attention to this issue in a floor speech, President Trump issued a statement threatening military action if the genocide does not stop.
  • BANNING CHINESE AND IRANIAN NATIONALS FROM U.S. UNIVERSITIES: Sen. Tuberville put American students first byintroducing the Student Visa Integrity Act to ban students from China and Iran from studying in the United States. For years, thousands of Iranian and Chinese students have taken the spots of deserving American students. This is not only unfair, but it is also a serious national security concern.
    • "I was recently shocked to learn how many students from hostile countries like China and Iran are studying at our American universities-including in my home state of Alabama," said Senator Tuberville. "We need to go on offense against countries who hate us and are desperate to try to take us down-as we saw with the violent, anti-American protests on our college campuses over the past few months. There is zero reason why we should be allowing students from countries that hate us to take the spot of a law-abiding American citizen at our elite colleges and universities. I'm proud to introduce the Student Visa Integrity Act to crack down on rampant abuse of student visas and to make our American Universities Prioritize Americans Again."
  • PROTECTING AMERICAN FARMLAND: Sen. Tuberville reintroduced the Protecting America's Agricultural Land from Foreign Harm Act, the FARM Act, and the AFIDA Improvements Act to protect American farmland from our adversaries. Additionally, Sen. Tuberville advocated for adding the Secretary of Agriculture to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) review process for foreign land investments.
  • KEEPING OUR ROADS SAFE: After several Alabamians were tragically killed by a non-English speaking driver, Sen. Tuberville introduced several bills to require drivers to be proficient in English. Requiring drivers be able to speak English and read our road signs is just common sense. Sen. Tuberville introduced the UBER Act, which requires ride share drivers to be proficient in English, along with the Secure Commercial Licensing Act, which requires all commercial driver's license (CDL) testing to be conducted in English. Sen. Tuberville's action on this issue would make President Trump's April Executive Order on CDLs permanent.

STANDING UP FOR TAXPAYERS:

  • CUTTING TAXES FOR ALABAMIANS: Sen. Tuberville fought hard for President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, which delivered historic tax cuts for hardworking Alabamians, including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security.
    • Senator Tuberville joined Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) in introducing the Overtime Wages Tax Relief Act in the Senate, which made President Trump's 'no tax on overtime' campaign promise a reality. This key provision was included in the final bill that was signed into law.
  • PROTECTING SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS: Sen. Tuberville led the charge on repealing the Biden-era Corporate Transparency Act, which requires small business owners to disclose personal data to the U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) or face up to two years of jail time. Following Sen. Tuberville's efforts, President Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent have instructed FinCEN not to enforce the law against Americans and American companies.
  • ADVOCATING FOR TAXPAYERS: Sen. Tuberville recently earned the "Taxpayers Friend" award from the National Taxpayers Union. This award signifies that Sen. Tuberville was one of the staunchest fiscal conservatives in Congress.
  • FIGHTING FOR FARMERS: Sen. Tuberville has been one of the most vocal advocates for eliminating the death tax, which crushes family farmers. He reintroduced The Death Tax Repeal Act, which would end the practice of taxing family-run farms, ranches, and businesses as the result of the owner's death. While the death tax has not been repealed yet, Sen. Tubervillesupported a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill that raises the exemption threshold to $15 million for individuals and $30 million for couples, resulting in less Alabamians being crushed by this burdensome tax.

SUPPORTING ALABAMA'S TROOPS AND MILITARY INSTALLATIONS:

  • GIVING ALABAMA TROOPS A RAISE: As Alabama's representative on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Sen. Tuberville secured several key wins for Alabama's troops and military installations in this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
    • Secures 3.8% pay raise for troops.
    • Improves quality-of-life and makes housing safer for our servicemembers by encouraging all military commissaries to carry at-home mold test kits.
    • Supports Alabama's defense industrial base by directing the Department of War (DOW) to fully develop the use of all quantum computing technologies.
    • Encourages DOW to continue to leverage the benefits of the military-civilian partnership that helps further medical research initiatives for the Department.
    • Directs DOW to accelerate the conversion and testing of successful air-launched weapon systems for ground employment.
    • Improves servicemembers' quality of life by improving the accuracy and transparency of housing allowance calculations.
    • Supports procurement of MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopters to modernize aging rotary wing aircraft fleet.
    • Improves advanced weapons systems by requiring the employment of advanced technologies and material improvements.
    • Continues investment in reactive target simulation and facility security enhancement to better meet evolving threats.
    • Makes important investments in surface ship sustainment and readiness, as well as shipyard optimization.
  • GETTING WOKENESS OUT OF THE MILITARY: Sen. Tuberville also delivered several conservative wins in this year's NDAA.
    • Eliminates DEI-related requirements within the Department of War.
    • Prohibits males from taking roster positions that belong to females at U.S. service academies.
    • Strengthens language to prohibit DOW recruiting funds from being used to censor and disadvantage conservative media sources.
    • Creates fundamental reforms for the Department's civilian workforce hiring and management practices to support President Trump's civil service reforms.
    • Requires that command selections in the Department be based on individual merit and demonstrated performance.
    • Blocks Democrats' efforts to prevent President Trump from re-naming bases.
  • OVERSEEING OUR SERVICE ACADEMIES: President Trump appointed Senator Tuberville to serve on the Board of Visitors for the U.S. Air Force Academy.

FIGHTING FOR ALABAMA FARMERS AND PRODUCERS AND UNLEASHING AMERICAN ENERGY:

  • STRENGTHENING THE FARM SAFETY NET: Through the One Big Beautiful Bill, Sen. Tuberville delivered major wins for Alabama farmers and producers:
    • Increased reference prices by 10-20%, helping Alabama producers better match rising input costs.
    • Increased commodity payment limits from $125,000 to $155,000 per individual.
    • Expanded drought assistance under the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) by lowering the eligibility threshold from 8 consecutive weeks of severe drought to 4 weeks for one monthly payment, or 7 out of 8 weeks for two payments-helping Alabama producers who previously narrowly missed qualifying.
    • A $15 million annual extension of the Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program through 2031, totaling $105 million to combat destructive feral hog populations.
    • Expanded assistance for Alabama catfish producers by amending the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-Raised Fish (ELAP) program to cover losses caused by bird depredation, including cormorants, with minimum payments of $600 per acre and consideration for revenue loss, deterrent costs, and disease-related mortality.
  • SUPPORTING ALABAMA FARMERS, FISHERMEN, AND SEAFOOD PRODUCERS: Sen. Tuberville led efforts to protect Alabama seafood producers and fishermen by advancing the Illegal Red Snapper and Tuna Enforcement Act to crack down on cartel-linked seafood imports, which passed the Senate. Sen. Tuberville also introduced the Honey Integrity Act to protect Alabama honey producers by establishing a standard of identity and combating unfair foreign imports.
  • UNLEASHING AMERICAN ENERGY: Since day one, Sen. Tuberville championed Making American Energy Great Again and eliminating Biden-era regulations that have put a chokehold on the American energy industry. As a result of Sen. Tuberville's work, the offshore revenue-sharing cap under the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) was increased from $500 million to $650 million for fiscal years 2025 through 2034, allowing Alabama to receive more revenue generated from offshore oil and gas production in the Gulf of America.
  • REPEALING WOKE BIDEN-ERA REGULATIONS: Sen. Tuberville helped repeal the Inflation Reduction Act methane fee through a Congressional Review Act signed by President Trump. This harmful regulation was intended to force more Americans to buy expensive and often impractical electric vehicles.
  • FIGHTING TO LOCK THE CLOCK: Ever since he got to the Senate, Sen. Tuberville has been fighting to end the practice of switching our clocks between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time. Earlier this year, Sen. Tuberville forced a vote on his bill, the Sunshine Protection Act, but it unfortunately did not pass the Senate.
  • "In the five years I have served here in the Senate, making Daylight Saving Time permanent is the number one issue that I hear about back home," Senator Tuberville said during a floor speech. "We know the devastating impact disruption from so-called 'Standard Time' has on Americans' health. Studies have suggested that disruption of sleep patterns due to time changes increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and physical injury. […] Bottom line: switching our clocks disrupts sleep patterns, and it has been proven time and time again to be harmful to the health."

PRESERVING THE AMERICAN FAMILY:

  • IMPROVING EDUCATION AND BOOSTING WORKFORCE: As the Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee on Education and the American Family, Sen. Tuberville chaired two hearings that centered on important issues facing the everyday American family:
    • During Sen. Tuberville's first hearing, he empowered parents to make the best choice for their children when it comes to their child's education.
    • During Sen. Tuberville's second hearing, he focused on ways to boost job training and develop Alabama's workforce.
  • MAKING AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN: Sen. Tuberville has been one of the most outspoken advocates for Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy's Make America Healthy Again movement. During Sec. Kennedy's nomination hearings, Sen. Tuberville took to the Senate floor to champion Kennedy and the MAHA agenda. Sen. Tuberville is a founding member of the MAHA Caucus in the U.S. Senate.
  • BANNING TOXIC CHEMICALS FROM OUR FOOD: After Sen. Tuberville exposed the Biden administration's cover-up of the long-term effects of harmful chemicals in the American food and beverage industry, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned Red No. 3 from foods, dietary supplements, and ingested medicines.
    • "Last month, I demanded answers from FDA officials on why Red Dye No. 3 is banned in cosmetics while being allowed in our foods. Glad to see the FDA finally use some common sense. I will keep working with Robert F. Kennedy and the MAHA Caucus to Make America Healthy Again," said Sen. Tuberville.

CARING FOR VETERANS:

  • EXPANDING TREATMENT OPTIONS: Sen. Tuberville led afield hearing atthe American Village in Montevallo to explore alternative treatment options, such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), for veterans struggling with mental health. As Alabama's voice on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, Sen. Tuberville has been a fierce advocate for HBOT during his time in the Senate. This year, he also reintroduced the HBOT Access Act to make Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) an available resource for veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) who have exhausted other evidence-based treatment options. Sen. Tuberville also joined Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) in urging VA Secretary Doug Collins to expand access to over-the-counter hearing aids for veterans, to help address one of the most common service-connected disabilities facing Alabama's veterans.
  • HELPING DEFRAUDED VETERANS: The Senate passed Sen. Tuberville's Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act to simplify the legal process for veterans who have been defrauded of their benefits.Sen. Tuberville had introduced this legislation in previous Congresses after hearing about the significant wait time defrauded veterans in the VA fiduciary program face, with some veterans even dying before receiving their reimbursements.
  • SHARING THE STORIES OF ALABAMA'S BEST: Alabama is home to nearly 500,000 veterans, and Sen. Tuberville is committed to sharing their stories. Earlier this year, he submitted the story of 105-year-old Roy Drinkard of Cullman to the Library of Congress to ensure his story will continue to inspire future generations. Each month this year, Sen. Tuberville also honored an Alabama "Veteran of the Month" for their service to our military and their local communities.

FIGHTING TO PROTECT TITLE IX AND COLLEGE SPORTS:

  • PROTECTING WOMEN'S SPORTS: In March 2025, Sen. Tuberville led the effort to protect women's sports in the Senate by forcing a vote on his bill, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. All 45 Democrats voted to block it. This bill would have permanently codified President Trump's historic Executive Order and prevented future Democrat Presidents from reversing it.
  • FIGHTING TO PROTECT OLYMPIC SPORTS: Ahead of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Sen. Tuberville reintroduced the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act to prohibit any governing body recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) from allowing men to participate in any athletic event intended for females. Sen. Tuberville also sent a letter to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) demanding that it comply with President Trump's Executive Order. Following pressure from Sen. Tuberville, the IOC is expected to ban men from competing in any female categories.
  • PRESERVING THE INTEGRITY OF COLLEGE ATHLETICS: Sen. Tuberville has been a relentless advocate for protecting student-athletes and college sports. Most recently, Sen. Tuberville wrote a column in the Wall Street Journal advocating for national standards for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) contracts while vehemently opposing Democrats' efforts to unionize student-athletes. Sen. Tuberville continues to work closely with President Trump to find a way to preserve the integrity and spirit of collegiate athletics.
    • "President Trump in July signed the executive order 'Saving College Sports,' which will help protect women's sports and prevent pay-for-play payments to college athletes from unauthorized sources. It's a welcome start, but we can't risk a Democratic president taking office, reversing the order and allowing student-athletes to unionize. I am all for them making money. But Congress must step up and create national NIL standards before college sports as we know it are destroyed," Senator Tuberville wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, HELP and Aging Committees.
