Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Bob Ferguson's directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered in remembrance of Washington State Patrol Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting.

Trooper Guting was tragically killed in the line of duty on Friday, December 19 while investigating a collision in Tacoma.

Flags will be lowered on Friday, December 26 and remain lowered through Monday, December 29. Mayor Brown encourages anyone with a flag outside of their home or business to join in this recognition to honor Trooper Guting.
