USDA Rural Development Accepts Applications for Gila County Homeowners Affected by 2025 Flooding to Apply for Home Repair Assistance

(Phoenix, Ariz., July 29, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development invites eligible homeowners in Gila County who were impacted by the September 26, 2025, flood and severe storm to apply for home repair assistance.

"At USDA Rural Development, we are committed to helping rural families recover and rebuild after natural disasters," said USDA Rural Development Arizona State Director Lori Urban. "Eligible homeowners can turn in their applications on August 6th or contact our office for more information."

Applications will be accepted Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, at the Gila County Citrus Heights Complex (Health Department Conference Room), 5515 S. Apache Ave., Globe, AZ 85501.

Eligible very low-income homeowners may apply to receive financial assistance to repair their homes. Funding may be available for essential repairs, roofing, HVAC systems, flooring, kitchens and bathrooms, septic systems and more.

Eligible applicants may qualify for:

• Home repair loans of up to $40,000
• Grants of up to $10,000 for eligible homeowners age 62 or older
• Combined loan and grant assistance of up to $50,000

To qualify, applicants must own and occupy the home, plus meet income eligibility requirements. Annual household income must not exceed $42,000 for Gila County households. Submission of an application does not guarantee eligibility or funding approval.

Proper documentation will be required, including identification, proof of income, proof of homeownership, recent bank statements, repair estimates or bids, and other supporting documents to help expedite the application process.
