Vietnam Hosts the APO’s Flagship Training Course on Green Productivity

The Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality, Vietnam, implemented the face-to-face Training Course on Green Productivity (GP) from 9 to 20 June 2025 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The course aimed to help participants understand the implications of GP at the enterprise level, learn about implementation approaches to GP methodology, and build capacity to become APO-certified GP specialists.

Nineteen participants from 14 APO members attended the course, and eight of the participants (from five members) had previously attended the online training course of the same name held in April 2025. A total of four resource persons from India, Norway, Thailand, and Vietnam provided insights into GP methodology, tools, and techniques; management systems facilitating GP; and APO-GPS 201:2023 Requirements for Green Productivity Specialists, which is the certification scheme and competency standard for GP specialists. The training also included a hands-on exercise on material flow cost accounting and group work on mushroom canning. The participants also gained practical insights through a site visit to Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company and another to Cosmos Industrial Co., Ltd. Based on their learning during the training, the participants prepared individual action plans for postproject activities.
