SEOUL, South Korea, September 18 2026 - Federal Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, concluded the inaugural Frederick W. Smith Day of Service. The global initiative brought together team members across Asia Pacific to commemorate the legacy of the FedEx founder through volunteer service in local communities.
Across the Asia Pacific region, the initiative united more than 590 FedEx team members across 11 markets, nonprofit organizations, and community partners in 23 activities aimed at addressing local needs while creating meaningful social and environmental impact. From supporting food security and environmental conservation to strengthening community well-being and educational opportunities, FedEx team members contributed to approximately 1,800 volunteer hours, engaging in a diverse range of projects tailored to the communities they serve.
In South Korea, in collaboration with Dail Community, 31 FedEx team members participated in the Babfor Sharing Movement to prepare and serve warm meals to 450 individuals in underprivileged communities.
Other region-wide efforts included ▲ packing and delivering more than 53,000 meals to address food insecurity and support vulnerable communities; ▲ planting over 900 trees and 1,500 plants to support conservation and habitat restoration; ▲ restoring one hectare of mangrove forest; and ▲ collecting more than 365 kilograms of waste and marine debris through community and coastal cleanups.
