Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming Calls on Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat

On 14 January 2025, Ambassador Cao Zhongming called on Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat. Both sides had in-depth exchange of views on China-Singapore practical cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Cao said as an important participant, witness and promoter of China-Singapore relations, DPM Heng Swee Keat has played an instrumental role in advancing practical cooperation between the two countries. The year of 2024 saw positive progress on China-Singapore relations with frequent high-level exchanges, close economic and trade cooperation and heated people-to-people exchanges. In 2025, China stands ready to work with Singaporean side to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity to strive for even more practical outcomes for cooperation between the two countries across the board.

DPM Heng Swee Keat reflected the history of Singapore-China relations, saying that the Singaporean side values its unique partnership with China and is willing to participate in and support the development of China in a mutually beneficial manner.
