#AdvocacyMatters: Last Call!

Support from our friend and allies - like you - makes an enormous difference in our work. With the core of our work supported by Federal grants designated for certain purposes, money that comes in through fundraising or other donations allow us to adapt more quickly to new barriers and better meet the needs of people with disabilities throughout Ohio.

One of our most engaging fundraisers is coming up next week, as we return to Marietta for our 6th annual DRO Duck Derby. Hundreds of pink, yellow, and blue ducks will race down the Muskingum River - with help from the Marietta HS Tiger Navy. Each duck carries a number and can be "sponsored" for $5, and the sponsors of the first 3 ducks to reach the finish line win cash prizes of $500, $250, and $125! This event has quickly become one of our favorite ways to engage with the community and generate additional funding to expand our reach and grow our work.

Here's where we really need your help.

Unfortunately, duck sponsorships are much lower right now than we're used to seeing. With just a few days left until the race, we're asking you to dive in and join us:

• Sponsor ducks! We have lots of ducks available to sponsor for just $5 each, putting you in the running for our $500 top prize. The more ducks you sponsor, the better your odds of winning.
• Share the event with your friends and family! Helping us raise awareness about the event and our work can amplify and multiply your investment.
• Watch it live! The Duck Derby will be streamed on the DRO Facebook page, starting at around 5:00 p.m. next Wednesday. The winners will be announced live during the stream!

Head to disabilityrightsohio.org/duck-derby to get involved. Duck sponsorships will end at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd, so don't delay!
