On 27 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in attending the 26th ASEAN - Republic of Korea Summit on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Meeting marked the first time H.E. Mr. Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea, met with ASEAN leaders.
As the Country Coordinator for ASEAN - Republic of Korea dialogue relations, the Prime Minister delivered the ASEAN Common statement to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), emphasizing three key areas, covering political and security cooperation, especially in addressing transnational crimes; economic cooperation, including smart connectivity, digital economy, and innovation; and human resource development.
In addition, the Prime Minister also highlighted Thailand's priorities in driving forward cooperation with the Republic of Korea, including fostering partnership to combat online scams, deepening economic integration, building a greener and more sustainable future through the exchange of expertise and technology as well as supporting efforts towards lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
