Teaming Agreement Combines Decades of Systems Integration Experience with Agile Aeroshell Manufacturing to Bolster the Arsenal of Freedom

LITTLETON, Colo., Aug. 10, 2026 - Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) and Albany Engineered Composites, a segment of Albany International Corp. (NYSE: AIN), have announced a teaming agreement to accelerate the delivery of high-rate, mission-ready hypersonic capabilities at the speed and scale demanded by the U.S. Department of War (DoW).

By combining Lockheed Martin's proven systems integration with Albany's agile composite manufacturing, the team is set to pursue upcoming full-rate production opportunities for hypersonic weapons programs.

Key Partnership Strengths

The agreement answers DoW's call to deliver reliable, cost-effective hypersonic systems at scale for the warfighter. The collaboration offers a unified, low-risk solution designed to accelerate development schedules while maintaining U.S. technological superiority.

Built on a flexible structure with defined roles and cost responsibilities, the agreement enables both partners to adapt quickly to shifting program requirements and government directives.

"By pairing our experience in system integration and battle-ready engineering with Albany's cutting-edge composite production, we are accelerating the delivery of critical technologies to bolster the Arsenal of Freedom and strengthen our defense industrial base," Johnathon Caldwell, Lockheed Martin vice president and general manager of Strategic and Missile Defense Systems said.

"The future of hypersonics depends on more than breakthrough design - it requires the ability to manufacture advanced composite structures at unprecedented scale," Chris Stone, president of Albany Engineered Composites said. "This partnership combines Lockheed Martin's proven architecture with Albany's advanced composite technologies and agile manufacturing capabilities to deliver a low-risk solution with the speed and quality the Department of War requires."
