Linn County staff was informed today that the Winter Weather Shelter will not be permitted for occupancy as planned for its scheduled opening date of November 15. The delay is due to outstanding work that must be completed as part of the ongoing building upgrade project.
Linn County is actively working with the contractor to address these remaining items as quickly as possible to ensure the building is safe, functional, and ready for use. Once the required work is finished, the Linn County Building Division will reinspect the property prior to issuing the occupancy permit.
An announcement will be made as soon as the building is approved and ready to open. Linn County appreciates the community's understanding and patience as we work to ensure a safe and effective sheltering environment for those who need it.
Those in need of shelter assistance prior to the Winter Weather Shelter opening should contact Waypoint Services by phone at 319-366-7999 or via email at [email protected].
