Press release No. 104 19.05.2026

Media Day of Trojan Footprint 2026 Multinational Exercise

Over 3,000 Special Operations Forces soldiers from twenty-three NATO allied and partner states are currently training in Trojan Footprint 2026 (TFP26), NATO's largest SOF exercise.

In this context, the Romanian Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces Command organizes on Thursday, May 21st, starting 7:00 p.m., in Comănești District, Bacău County, an urban training sequence conducted by a joint structure made up of Special Operation Forces specialists from Romania and Italy.

The training activities aim to improve the techniques for inserting special operations forces into amphibious or coastal environments, both by air and land. At the same time, the operating procedures in hostile and complex environments are to be tested, with the aim of enhancing the interoperability of the participating structures.

The weather conditions at the time of the activity may influence the execution of the scheduled aerial sequences by the Air Force Staff aircraft.

Media representatives interested in participating in this event are requested to send their identification data (surname, first name, media institution, series and number of the identity document and telephone number) to e-mail addresses [email protected] and [email protected], by Thursday, May 21st, 11:00.

Additional information regarding the meeting place, the schedule of activities and access conditions will be communicated later to accredited journalists.

Point of contact: Lieutenant Colonel Ivanof Alexandru (Special Operations Forces Command), cell phone 0771.214.125.
