Wisconsin Corn Calls for Bipartisan Action Following Senate Committee Farm Bill Vote

Watertown, Wis. [August 6, 2026] - The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry did not advance the Agriculture Act of 2026 today after the legislation failed to secure enough votes. The Agriculture Act of 2026, also referred to as "Farm Bill 2.0," included several top priorities for Wisconsin Corn, including language that would allow for the year-round sale of E15, or Unleaded 88.

In response to the vote, Wautoma farmer and Wisconsin Corn Growers Association (WCGA) President Paul Jarvis released the following statement:

"Today's outcome is frustrating for Wisconsin corn farmers who continue to face economic uncertainty and need long-term policy solutions. For corn growers like me, the inclusion of year-round E15 is particularly important because it represents a significant opportunity to strengthen domestic demand for corn, expand consumer fuel choices, and support rural communities across our state."

"Farmers cannot afford continued delays. We urge senators to work together to advance a bipartisan bill to support American farmers and rural economies. Time is running out with many more steps to go, and agriculture needs action - not more uncertainty."
