AMEXCID and Concanaco-Servytur Deepen Dialogue on Development Cooperation
  • Government and private sector advance joint agendas for inclusive development
  • Commerce, services and tourism emerge as key allies in international cooperation

The Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) met with the National Confederation of Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur) to exchange views on commerce, services, tourism and international development cooperation as priority areas for the federal government. The meeting focused on how to strengthen inclusive economic growth in these sectors.

The dialogue took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between AMEXCID Executive Director Alejandra Del Moral Vela and Concanaco-Servytur National President Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano.

"International cooperation becomes more effective when it incorporates the experience, territorial reach and social commitment of the Mexican business sector," said Director Del Moral Vela.

She emphasized that partnering with Concanaco-Servytur creates a strategic opportunity to combine capabilities, create synergies and position the Mexican business sector as a committed actor in inclusive development at both the national and international levels.

Given today's cooperation landscape, the Agency stressed the importance of innovative approaches that engage the private sector as a key ally in implementing productive projects and strengthening local economies.

Director Del Moral noted that under President Claudia Sheinbaum's direction, AMEXCID is working to strengthen collaboration with the private sector.

AMEXCID has established a Technical Cooperation Directorate as part of this effort to foster connections between civil society organizations and the private sector while rebuilding trust through constructive dialogue.

The AMEXCID executive director highlighted the June 17, 2025 installation of the Business Technical Council to coordinate business resources, monitor results and bring new actors into international cooperation activities.

"Private sector participation in international cooperation transforms diplomacy into concrete opportunities for wellbeing, employment and shared prosperity," she said.

"Concanaco-Servytur welcomes this dialogue with AMEXCID because cooperation at the local level translates into inclusive growth: greater productivity, more jobs and expanded opportunities for businesses and family enterprises," the confederation's president remarked.

With a network of 258 chambers representing more than five million businesses nationwide, Concanaco-Servytur is a key pillar of the national economy and a strategic partner for expanding the impact of development cooperation.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to building joint agendas that advance sustainable development, business internationalization and cooperation aimed at improving the lives of all Mexicans.
