Participate in the City Nature Challenge!

We are excited to announce our participation in the worldwide City Nature Challenge from Friday, April 24 to Monday, April 27!

Visit our preserves, parks, community centers, and greenways to find plants, animals (including insects), fungi, and other living things. Download the free iNaturalist app in the Apple or Android App Stores to submit photos of the things you see. Instructions on How to Make an Observation.

You can participate anywhere in Raleigh parks, preserves, and greenways, our community centers, downtown, or anywhere in the world! By documenting your observations with iNaturalist, you will learn about the living things around you and connect with a community of other people who value learning about nature. You will also help guide natural resources management decisions and contribute to scientific studies locally and internationally, while competing to find more species than other cities.
