WAIPAHU, Hawaiʻi - After rescheduling due to the Kona Low storms in March, the Waipahu Public Library celebrated its 30th Anniversary today with a morning of culture, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
"For three decades, Waipahu Public Library has served as a hub for stories, learning, and connections for residents across Central Oʻahu," said Stacey A. Aldrich, state librarian. "Today, it continues to meet the diverse needs of everyone in the community."

The 30th birthday celebration was generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai'i and the Friends of Waipahu Public Library.
About the Waipahu Public Library
Library services in Waipahu began as early as 1952 with a library on Farrington Highway. The current library opened at a new facility located next to the Waipahu Civic Center on March 18, 1996. Designed by Mitsunaga and Associates, the library features Oʻahu's only drive-thru window and an exclusive reading room for teens.
The library's public service hours are:
Tuesday, Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Thursday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
