Visit to the Sirdaryo Teahouse and Release of 1 Million Fish Fingerlings into the Sirdaryo River

On September 22, in the city of Khujand, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, visited the Sirdaryo Teahouse, which had been fully renovated and modernized in preparation for the worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of State Independence.
The Sirdaryo Teahouse, located on the left bank of the Sirdaryo River, was reconstructed on an area of 2,741 square meters. The client for the project was the State Communal Enterprise "Main Construction Department of Khujand," while the contractor was Sоkhtmon LLC.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the teahouse was constructed in an attractive national architectural style. Traditional painting, plasterwork, and wood carving were used in the decoration of its walls. The artistic elements incorporated into the building combine distinctive national features with a modern style.

Three carved gazebos have been built in the courtyard of the teahouse, showcasing the richness of traditional Tajik craftsmanship.

Following the visit, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, released 1 million fish fingerlings into the Sirdaryo River through four ponds as part of efforts to develop fish farming in Khujand.

The fingerlings consisted of grass carp, silver carp, and common carp, which had been raised at fish hatcheries in the cities and districts of the province.

This initiative was implemented by the Executive Body of State Power of Sughd Province and the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in accordance with the guidance of the Leader of the Nation, with the aim of increasing the fish population in the Sirdaryo River.

Five aquariums were also presented at the site, showcasing species of grass carp, silver carp, and common carp raised at fish production facilities and fish farms across the province.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that, depending on water and climatic conditions, grass carp, silver carp, and common carp gain an average weight of 600 grams to 1.5 kilograms within one year.

After releasing the fingerlings, President Emomali Rahmon gave useful recommendations to specialists regarding the development of fish farming and noted that more than 20 species of fish can be raised in the waters of Tajikistan.
