Bridge Membrane Repairs on the Waterbury Interchange

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Bridge membrane repairs will be performed on I84 and Route 8 on the Waterbury Interchange. This project is scheduled to take place on Tuesday May, 26 and be completed on Friday, May 29, 2026. This project is to repair failing membrane at specific locations. The locations included are:

• Exit 20 Eastbound Ramp (Bridge 03191D)
• I-84 Eastbound Over Jackson Street (Bridge 03191A)
• I-84 Westbound Over Bank Street (Bridge 03193)
• Route 8 Northbound Neat River Street (Bridge 03190A)

This project is being performed by Tilcon CT.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be left or right lane closures on I84 or Route 8 from May 26 to May 29, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns will be in place with State Police to guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
